J. Donald Cyr's Greek Journey

J. Donald Cyr's Greek Journey

皇冠足彩’s art instructor, J. Donald Cyr, recently showcased his artwork at the University of Maine at Presque Isle's Reed Art Gallery. Cyr's part of the exhibition was titled "Imaginary Greek Landscapes," and featured a series of round paintings on gessoed plywood, inspired by his travels through Greece. Each piece draws from actual locations Cyr visited during his three-week stay in the country, blending reality with imaginative elements to evoke the rich cultural history and natural beauty of the region.

In addition to his role at 皇冠足彩, Cyr serves as an adjunct lecturer at UMPI, where he continues to share his passion for the arts. His work is characterized by its unique use of circular canvases and attention to texture and depth, offering viewers an immersive experience that transports them to the landscapes he depicts.

Outside the classroom and the gallery, Cyr is dedicated to preserving Acadian history. For over 40 years, he has been working to restore the Musée culturel du Mont-Carmel, a historic church-turned-museum in Lille, Maine. This project reflects his deep connection to local history and his commitment to cultural preservation, much like the care and detail present in his art.
